Priority Notices & Membership

For any membership enquiry, please e-mail 'membership@joyara.org.uk'.

You can download a Membership Request form, that is located at the bottom of the Constitution & Documents page.

You may be able to attend as a Guest at a monthly meeting for a nominal fee of £3, that provides for entrance and refreshments. However, should there by significant Member attendance that then threatens to breach the hall attendance rules of use, we retain the right to ask guests to leave (with fee reimbursement)... it's not happened before!

Membership

Membership is set to 200 persons per the Constitution.

  • It is determined by the Fire Safety requirements of the JW Community Centre (that permits a maximum of 150 seated bodies in the hall);

  • The primary catchment area for membership is one mile from the JW Community Centre;

  • Eligibility is for persons 50 years or older, partially or fully retired, and their spouses/partner.

  • The cost of membership is £20pa, for which you get monthly entertainment, teas, coffees and cakes... compare that to the price paid in the major coffee chains and it's very good value!

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation):

JOYARA takes the privacy of our members’ data seriously as a ‘controller’ of personal information you provide to us.

We need such data in order to provide core member services including confirmation of membership, club administration, event and meeting information, and welfare.

Your full details will be available to a limited number of Committee members, and ‘contact information’ only to Committee members in general and persons authorised when planning events: no information will be shared with any business or affiliate organisation, or used to support ‘cold calling’.

You may change your communication preferences or restrict the processing of your personal data for specific purposes.

Agreement to the GDPR statement is not a prerequisite condition for membership but without such it could become impractical to maintain your membership.

The Association’s GDPR must be considered in conjunction with the Association’s Constitution: please see the Historical Documentation page for information.
